The Forum is limited to the first 25 registrants with acceptable abstracts. This meeting is for people who are experienced in the field, not for those wanting assistance, mentoring, or guidance to enter the field. Everyone who attends must present. Space is limited so we regret we cannot accommodate visitors and onlookers.

Hotel Registration

Room Rate is $139.00 for single, double, triple, or quad occupancy.  Room rates are subject to 15.75% tax and $1.00 occupancy tax per room per night. Taxes are subject to change without notice.  

You must call the Hotel Provincial at (504) 581-4995 or (800)-535-7922 in order to make reservations. Reservations may also be made online at www.hotelprovincial.com/groups/animal.

Each reservation must be guaranteed via credit card. The cut-off date for making reservations is January 28, 2018.  Any reservation requests received after this date will be based on availability and current RACK rate.

Area Information

IFAAB has been at the Hotel Provincial a number of times. Please visit the hotel's website for more information about rooms, pool, restaurant, bar, etc.  

The Provincial is in the French Quarter and within walking distance of any number of fantastic restaurants, about 4 blocks from Jackson Square, Bourbon Street and all the Quarter has to offer. 

Travel Information

IF YOU DRIVE:  On-site, valet parking is available at $27.00 plus applicable taxes per day, with in and out privileges. All rates are subject to change and are based on availability.  

From the Airport: The hotel suggests using either a taxi or Uber (the Hotel does NOT have a shuttle).  Taxi ride for 2 people is $35 and $15 for each extra person.  Uber is flat rate of $35.

Meeting Registration

For the first time this year, registrations will be accepted online. We are working on getting this process set up and ready to go. 

Registration and abstract MUST be submitted together.  One will not be accepted without the other.

If you know you will need to cancel, please do so as soon as possible so someone on the waiting list can be contacted.

Full refund if cancellation is received by January 1, 2018.  None after that date

Abstracts and Registrations must be received by October 31, 2017

Suggested Presentation Topics for Meeting

Early IFAAB's depended less on "presentations" and more on panels. One of the early elements of IFAAB was to avoid being another conference with only talks (with pressure on time and preparation) and more open ended discussion with different people taking the role of moderator. 

We encourage more doubling-up of speakers, with  20 minuntes of presentation followed by 20 minutes for discussion for each talk.
