Meeting Schedule
We have an exciting meeting planned for 2027 in warm, inviting Tucson, AZ. Join us for 3 days of thought-provoking presentations and discussions!
Thursday evening (optional): February 18, 2027
A low-key get-together for those who come in early enough to say hi! We’ll gather within a few miles of the hotel. If it’s nice enough, we can hang out outside; if not, there’s plenty of room indoors. Stop by when you can.
Friday: February 19, 2027
Breakfast at the hotel on your own (complementary!) followed by a morning of introductions and presentations with lunch, more presentations, and snacks in the afternoon. Discussions throughout and plenty of short breaks to enjoy the warm weather.
Dinner is on your own. There are several restaurants within a short walk or drive of the hotel. Nearby options include Amelia’s Mexican Kitchen for Mexican and Sonoran-inspired food, Giuseppe’s for Italian and pizza, The Parish for Southern/Cajun-inspired food and cocktails, and Pita Jungle for Mediterranean fare with plenty of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. All are along or just off Oracle Road near the hotel.
Saturday: February 20, 2027
Complementary breakfast at the hotel followed by a morning of presentations with lunch, more presentations, and snacks in the afternoon. Discussions throughout.
Join your IFAAB colleagues for a group dinner out!
Sunday: February 21, 2027
Complementary breakfast at the hotel followed by a short morning of presentations, discussions, and an early afternoon wrap-up with discussion about next year’s meeting.
Flight Options
Nearest Airport: Tucson International Airport: https://flytucson.com/
Tucson International Airport (TUS) is the recommended airport and is approximately 16 miles from the Hampton Inn & Suites Tucson-Mall. TUS is served by six airlines with nonstop flights to major hubs including Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, Seattle, and others.
Attendees may also consider Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX), approximately 110 miles from the hotel. PHX offers substantially more nonstop flight options and may provide lower fares or more convenient schedules for some travelers. Allow approximately 2 hours to drive to Tucson, depending on traffic. Rental cars and several intercity shuttle companies are available from PHX to Tucson.
Ground Transportation
Hampton Inn & Suites Tucson-Mall is located approximately 16 miles (about a 30-minute drive) from Tucson International Airport. The hotel does not provide an airport shuttle.
- Uber/Lyft: Generally the easiest option. Rideshare pickup is located outside baggage claim on the commercial roadway in front of the terminal.
- Taxi: Taxis are available outside the terminal and are scheduled to be available following arriving flights.
- Rental Car: Several major rental-car companies operate at TUS. The Rental Car Center is directly outside the east exit of the main terminal.
- Public Transportation: Sun Tran buses serve the airport, but reaching the hotel requires transfers and takes approximately 2 hours, so rideshare, taxi, or a rental car will generally be more convenient.
- Prearranged Shuttle/Car Service: Private car and shuttle services also serve TUS and should be reserved in advance.
For most conference attendees who are not renting a car, Uber or Lyft will likely be the simplest option.

The conference hotel is the Hampton Inn & Suites Tucson-Mall (5950 North Oracle Road Tucson, Arizona 85704). Conference rates are $189/night (+tax/fees) for a 1-king bed or a 2-queen bed room room.
